Emmy Award-Winning News Producer Joins The Peacock Group
The Peacock Group (TPG) announced today that Emmy award-winning news producer Katelyn Deckelbaum has joined the agency as senior public relations executive. With more than a decade of experience in broadcast news, Deckelbaum will assist the agency's clients in strategic storytelling across all media.
Deckelbaum joined TPG after nine years at KATV-7 (ABC), most recently holding the executive producer title. As one of the newsroom's top managers, she oversaw nightly newscasts, day-to-day planning, content decisions, special programming, approving scripts and writing copy for the station's website and social media platforms. She won an Emmy award for her role as senior producer for "Arkansas Growing: The Journey from Legalization to Cultivation," an hour-long documentary on medical marijuana.
"Katelyn's specialized experience in broadcast news will prove invaluable as we look for unique ways to share our clients' stories," said Denver Peacock, APR, TPG founder and principal. "With an immense understanding of the regional media landscape, we look forward to seeing how her relationships and specialized background will allow us to serve our clients better."
Raised in Birmingham, Ala., Deckelbaum graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.A in telecommunications and film, an emphasis in broadcast news and a minor in communication studies.
